Glow Festival celebrates 10th anniversary with spectacular showcase of creative talent

The spotlight shone brightly on our Creative Industries students last night as they officially launched the 10th edition of the Glow Festival at Granton Campus.

Glow’s milestone anniversary was marked with captivating performances from the College's Street Band as well as Musical Theatre and Dance – setting the stage for a six-week celebration of creativity and innovation.

Kaukab Stewart MSP, Minister for Culture, Europe and International Development, attended the event and congratulated the College, its students and staff on ten years of Glow as well as giving warm words of encouragement ahead of this year’s festival and for the future careers of Glow students.

Marking the pinnacle of the academic year for Edinburgh College's creative students, the annual Glow Festival promises to be a breath-taking display of the next generation's artistic prowess.

Throughout May and June, a range performances and exhibitions will take over venues across the capital, showcasing the diverse talents nurtured within the College's Creative Industries programmes across Performing Arts and Photography, Music, Media and Sound Production, Art and Design, and Computing.

From music concerts and theatre shows to exhibitions and film screenings, the festival's eclectic line-up ensures there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Renowned Edinburgh venues such as La Belle Angelle, Out of the Blue Drill Hall, City Art Centre, Custom Lane Gallery, and the College's own campuses will play host to this year's events, providing the perfect backdrop for students’ end-of-year works.

Highlights of this year’s festival include the; Spliced – a showcase and award ceremony celebrating students’ short documentaries and dramas; the annual Games Expo showcasing games created by students and local indie developers; a spectrum of musical gigs spanning from classic rock to contemporary pop; the much-anticipated Performing Arts Studio Scotland 'Cross Currents' dance event; and much more.

We are thrilled to kick off the 10th edition of the Glow Festival with awe-inspiring performances from our talented students. Their dedication and passion for the arts shine through in every aspect of their work, and Glow provides them with a platform to share their talents with a wider audience. I urge everyone to join us at this year's festival to witness the incredible showcases that our students have prepared.
