Continuing Students Account

If you were studying at Edinburgh College at any point from 1 September 2024 onwards, you are regarded as a continuing student. 

If you were an Edinburgh College student last year, your Student Number/Username and password will remain unchanged. 

You can continue to sign in to all Edinburgh College systems using the same credentials that you have been using previously. 

Remember that your student number is also your username for many College systems. For Microsoft applications, you add @edinburghcollege.ac.uk to the end. This is also your Edinburgh College email address.

For example: 

  • Username: ec2012345 
  • Email/Microsoft: ec2012345@edinburghcollege.ac.uk 

Forgotten your Student Number? 

Your Student Number is included in your enrolment email. 

If you can’t find your student number or are continuing to have trouble, please get in touch with IT Support on 0131 297 9090 between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM, Monday to Friday, or email itrequest@edinburghcollege.ac.uk 

Forgotten your password? 

As a continuing student, you will have already registered a recovery method and set up Multi-Factor Authentication.  

You would have chosen at least one of the following recovery methods: 

  • Microsoft Authenticator mobile app 
  • Mobile phone number (SMS) 
  • Personal email address 

Go to passwordreset.microsoftonline.com, complete the challenge and follow the instructions on screen to recover your password. 

If you have forgotten or do not know your password and have no recovery method on your account, please call IT Support on 0131 297 9090 between 8 AM and 4 PM, Monday to Friday, or email itrequest@edinburghcollege.ac.uk for help.

Know your password, but want to change it?

You can only do this if you have permission from our IT team to update your password in Office 365. If you have issues, please get in touch with itrequest@edinburghcollege.ac.uk or call 0131 297 9090 between 8 AM and 4 PM, Monday to Friday.

  1. Please go to https://office.com/signin and sign in using your Edinburgh College email address (ecXXXXXXX@edinburghcollege.ac.uk) and existing password.
  2. Go to Settings, then Change Password.

   3. Make your changes and click Save.
