Edinburgh College is one of Scotland’s largest colleges with over 27,000 students across four campuses in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
We welcome international students to join our Access, Higher Education, English Language courses and bespoke training programmes across our four faculties:

We offer a wide range of nationally and internationally recognised courses and qualifications across a wide variety of subject areas. We offer courses for international students that can be delivered in Edinburgh, online or overseas.

We have courses available for every step of your journey. Whether you’re looking to improve your English language skills, gain qualifications for your first job, move on to university-level study, upskill or re-train to enhance your career options, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
Courses
Access courses (6 months – 1 year)
For students who wish to progress to university-level study, but do not yet have the required academic qualifications to meet university entry requirements.
Higher Education courses (6 months – 2 years)
For students who wish to study at university level, but do not wish to commit to 3-4 years of study. Our HNCs (1-year) and HNDs (2-year) provide flexible and affordable pathways to achieve qualifications equivalent to years one and two of a university degree. Once you complete your HNC or HND, you can progress to university to achieve a degree-level qualification, or use your skills and qualification to progress straight into work.
Summer School (2-8 weeks)
Our Summer School programme runs for 8 weeks in June – August for students aged 16+ to improve English language skills, make new friends from around the world, and explore Edinburgh and Scotland.
Bespoke group programmes
We offer bespoke programmes for groups including:
- English language courses
- Teacher Training
- English Plus
- High-school exchanges, including infill into vocational courses alongside local students
- Professional training and qualifications.
