International Tuition Fees and Living Costs

Financial considerations are one of the most important issues when considering studying abroad. As well as the international tuition fees, you will need to factor in the cost of living in the United Kingdom during your studies.

When planning to study in the United Kingdom, it is important to think about both tuition fees and the cost of living. 

Tuition Fees for International Students 

International students must pay the full tuition fee for their course before receiving an unconditional offer. 

What is Included in Tuition Fees? 

All international tuition fees include: 

  • Student support services
  • Access to campus facilities (library, computers, WiFi)
  • Course certification
  • International student induction
  • Access to the College’s online learning platform and self-study resources 

Tuition Fees – Access and Higher Education Courses 2024/25

Course Duration and Fees
Introductory & Access Courses (SCQF level 6) 

1 Semester: £3,950  

1 Year: £7,900 

HNC - Higher National Certificate (SCQF level 7) 

1 Year: £8,400

Fast-track 1 semester: £5,700

HND – Higher National Diploma (SCQF level 8)  2 Years: £8,400 per year 
UAL Level 3 Diploma Programmes (SCQF level 6) 1 Year: £8,400 

Important: Fees may change. Tuition fees do not include additional costs such as course materials. 

Living Costs 

In addition to tuition fees, you will need to budget for the cost of living in the UK. 

When planning your budget, consider expenses such as: 

  • Rent
  • Bills (electricity, water, internet)
  • Insurance
  • Food and meals
  • Clothing and shopping
  • Eating out and social activities 

For Student Visa holders, the UK Visa and Immigration (UKVI) maintenance requirement is £1,136 per month for 9 months (a total of £10,224) for full-time courses. 

Free Support Services for International Students 

All international students can access free support services, including: 

  • Help with finding accommodation and homestay placements
  • Support with applications, admissions, and visas
  • College and course induction
  • Access to Edinburgh College Student’s Association (ECSA)
  • On-campus library and IT facilities
  • International student support services
