College Dance & Drama students scoop award nomination after Brighton Fringe performance

A group of students from the BA (Hons) Dance & Drama course are celebrating an awards nomination following a successful performance at Brighton Fringe.

They took their children’s show, “A History Mystery”, down south to perform at the annual arts festival, which is the largest of its kind in England. The show was created by the students with support from lecturer Ashling Findlay-Carroll, alongside Artist in Residence Anja Davel, and is aimed at kids aged 6 to 10-years-old.

Designed to make history fun and engaging, the production blends storytelling, puzzles and audience participation as young detectives uncover fascinating secrets from the past. It’s now been shortlisted for the Same Sky Family Friendly Award, making the cut ahead of over 150 other shows at this year’s Fringe, representing a fantastic achievement for the students and the Department as a whole.

Everyone at the College is rooting for them when it comes time to award the big prize!
