Course overview
This Management and Leadership CMI Certificate is designed for middle managers and those aspiring to senior management roles. This course will develop your leadership skills and provide up-to-date knowledge and understanding of related leadership topics.
You are required to complete 13 credits to earn the Certificate; this course will give you 18 credits in total. You can later build on the certificate and work towards the full Diploma. For more information, visit the Chartered Management Institute website.

- Using Reflective Practice to Inform Personal and Professional Development (525).
How the course is assessed
- You will be continually assessed through written assignments set by CMI.
Number of days per week
- One session per week, online, via MS Teams, from 1.30 PM to 4 PM.
- The next course starts on Wednesday, 24 February 2027.
Please note: All 3 units will be delivered and assessed between February and June.
Entry requirements
- HNC or equivalent level studies in management or a related subject.
- Educated to at least SCQF level 7.
- Mature/experienced managers are accepted based on current or recent work experience.
- We welcome your application if you are currently unemployed and believe you meet the requirements.

- Following the CMI Certificate RQF 5 (SCQF 8), you may wish to continue to study the CMI Diploma in Management and Leadership RQF 5 (SCQF 8). Alternatively, you may wish to progress to the CMI Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice RQF (SCQF 11).
