NPA Business and Marketing (SCQF Level 6) is designed for learners who want to build the knowledge, skills and confidence required to progress to higher education and careers within business and marketing sectors.
This practical and engaging course provides learners with a strong foundation in key business functions, including marketing, finance, and communication.
You will develop an understanding of how organisations operate, how businesses are formed and managed, and how marketing supports growth and customer engagement in an increasingly digital world.
The course has been designed as part of Edinburgh College's Business & Marketing Pathway, providing a clear progression route to HNC Business or HNC Marketing.
Throughout the course, learners will explore a range of contemporary business topics, including business formation, digital marketing, finance, economics, sustainability and professional business behaviours. You will strengthen your communication, digital and accounting skills while developing the confidence and professional attributes required for success in both higher education and employment.
This course provides an excellent foundation for learners considering a future career in business and marketing and supports progression to higher-level study and professional qualifications.

Number of days per week
- 2 days per week on campus, plus 1 self-study day.
Entry requirements
A minimum of four relevant National 5s (must include English/Communication and Maths/Numeracy) at Grade C or above.
Or
- Completion of a relevant L5 course at Edinburgh College within the Enterprise and Commerce Department.
- A relevant National Qualifications Group Award at SCQF Level 5, including Communication and Numeracy.
