Outlook
What is it?
Microsoft Outlook is an application that is used mainly to send and receive emails. It’s also used to manage various types of personal data including calendar appointments, tasks, contacts, and notes.
While studying at Edinburgh College , all official communications between you, your lecturers, and the College will be sent via your Edinburgh College email address. Course-related notifications such as grading, feedback, upcoming and overdue task notifications will also be sent to this email address. Please check your email regularly throughout your studies.
Please note we will start using your EC email address as the default for all communications when you start your course. You will still receive some key communications through your personal email address over the this summer.
Calendar
For any online classes, your lecturers will schedule Teams meetings that will appear in your Outlook (and Teams) calendar. There are many methods of joining online class meetings, and your Outlook calendar is a great way to not only join but also keep track of your College schedule. There is more information on using Teams below.
