Gold medal success icing on the cake for Edinburgh College in ScotHot 2025
A group of Edinburgh College students got a taste for award success as they scooped gold, silver, and bronze awards at a national hospitality competition recently.
The Professional Cookery and Hospitality students competed in a wide range of categories to showcase their creative culinary skills, picking up a total of 3 gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze awards, as well as 14 merits, and a range of food and safety hygiene awards.
SVQ 3 Professional Cookery (Patisserie and Confectionery) student Niall McCann put the icing on the cake by winning gold in the overall Table d'Honours, after also receiving gold in the Decorated Celebration Cake category and being named best in class.
The ScotHot Awards 2025 is one of the biggest competitions in the industry’s calendar which recognises the next generation of rising stars within Scotland’s food, drink, hospitality, and tourism sectors.
