GLOW is an inspiring festival that showcases the outstanding work of our Creative Industries and tech students from The Schools of Art and Design, Computing, Media, Music and Sound Production, and Performing Arts and photography.

Join us at iconic venues across Edinburgh and beyond, including The City Art Centre, Voodoo Rooms, Out of the Blue, Drill Hall, Church Hill Theatre and many more, for our broad programme of events across our Capital City in May and June 2025.

Art and Design Showcase 2025

Visit an inspiring Creative Showcase where our UAL Foundation Diploma and level 1,2, and 3 Diplomas, NC’s, and FA students exhibit their exceptional work across the School of Art and Design studios. This exciting event celebrates their hard work before they continue their journey with further courses at Edinburgh College and beyond, showcasing the incredible talent shaping the future of art and design!

HND/BA Graduate Exhibition 2025

Edinburgh’s new creatives present their graduate work and launch their careers in the heart of the City.

The show is split into two courses exhibiting: 4 – 8 June HND in Graphics, Illustration, and UX Design, along with our BA (Hons) Visual Communication; 11 – 15 June HNDS in 3d Animation, 3d Design, Contemporary Art Practice, and Textiles. 

Aw Jock Tamson’s Bairns

The Story Valley Project aims to encourage participants to use their creativity to translate oral history to a creative output. Following this teaching model first developed in 2021, our current Edinburgh College music students have written original songs created from their own stories. This acoustic showcase of their work, inspired by the Scots phrase “We’re aw Jock Tamson’s Bairns”, proves to be entertaining and inspiring. 

Classical Instrumental and Vocal Showcase

Our classical music students and staff present a concert of varied repertoire to showcase solo work undertaken over the year. Enjoy music from all kinds of classical genres drawn from the last 300 years, and support our young musicians as they develop their confidence in public performance.

Edinburgh College Street Band, Strings, Choir, Traditional Music Band and other ensembles are thrilled to be returning to the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway in June 2025 for our sixth annual music tour. This series of fundraising concerts in Peebles, Castle Douglas and Moffat will showcase the work the ensembles have undertaken over the course of the year. Exciting, entertaining programmes are guaranteed. Please support these young musicians and enjoy concerts full of joyous music making.

On Saturday, Out of the Bedroom, Edinburgh’s longest-running open mic night, will be in charge, with anyone welcome to take the stage.

On Sunday, we will have an array of musical talent from Edinburgh College, from solo performers to full bands, throughout the day for a full GLOW takeover!

Out The Box Fest is Edinburgh College Music’s annual festival, showcasing the incredible talent of our music students from UAL Level 2 and 3, and HND courses. This event is more than just a performance—it's a celebration of a year’s hard work, creativity, and growth. 

Across four nights at The Mash House in Edinburgh, students take the stage to share the music they’ve been developing throughout the year. Expect a diverse lineup featuring popular music, rock, and a few unexpected surprises. Whether you're here to support friends, discover new talent, or just have a great night out, we invite you to join us, dance, and be part of something special. 

If you would like to attend all four nights, please select the 'Full Festival' ticket on Monday to experience four nights for a discounted price!

A revolution is coming – are you ready for it? 

Inspired by the fierce, pop-fuelled anthems of SIX, this high-energy reimagining of Lysistrata brings Aristophanes’ classic battle of the sexes into the modern day, where the women are fed up, fired up, and ready to take control. 

Set against the backdrop of a divided nation, Lysistrata follows a fearless heroine who rallies the women to withhold more than just their affections, demanding peace, power, and a say in the future of their land. With a killer pop-rock score, sharp wit, and a feminine power, this electrifying show flips history on its head, proving that when women unite, they can change the course of a nation.

The Disco Duckling at the Brighton Fringe

An adaptation of the original novel, The Life and Death of the Wicked Lady Skelton, by Magdalen King-Hall. 

Lady Barbara Skelton is beautiful, wild and truly wicked. Forced into a respectable marriage with a man she can't love, she soon becomes bored and embarks on a secret life of gambling, highway robbery and murder. But she's playing a dangerous game. Shadowed by betrayal, threatened by revenge, can Barbara escape her wicked life? Or will she be abandoned to a terrible fate?

Costume and MUA Showcase 2025

Edinburgh College's HND Costume for Stage and Screen and HND Makeup Artistry programs are proud to announce their collaborative end-of-year show. This event will showcase an array of costumes, make-up looks, wigs and accessories, all meticulously crafted by students from both courses. The show will take place at the College's 'PASS Theatre' on 21 May 2025. Additionally, the catwalk for the event will be expertly set up by students from the HND Technical Theatre program.

Edinburgh College Games Expo 25

Everyone is invited to this free evening! Bring your gang along to play some games, including hot new projects by local indie game developers as well as FE and HE level game dev students from Edinburgh College, and have the opportunity to chat with the devs and share your feedback. If you're interested in studying game dev and want to know more, if you're a hobbyist or game developer and you have wisdom to share, if you want to meet some folks in the local game dev community or in game dev education, or if you just want to try out some games then this is for you!
