Course overview
Filmmaking for Screen introduces the fundamentals of creating a film for the big screen. After learning and practicing your craft in the studio, you will be invited to team up (or fly solo) to write, produce, direct, and edit a short film.
In this course, you will work with other film enthusiasts who want to learn all aspects of filmmaking.
You will cover: Acting, Directing, Editing, and Scriptwriting, and work on developing your skills in all these areas.
You will also look at good examples of filmmaking and learn how to apply those to your work. You will then collectively work on a film project under the professional guidance of lecturers.
What’s involved?
The first half of the course features demos, workshops, and tasks to get you up to speed with basic video camera operation, editing your footage, studio lighting, audio recording, acting, and directing!
In the following weeks, students are supported through tutorials to make and edit a short film or documentary.
Films are later celebrated (in style) at the Filmmaking for Screen Awards night.
