Course overview

This beginners’ course will provide you with skills to apply your make-up. This practical course will give you excellent hands-on experience through masterclasses and one-to-one support. Throughout the sessions you will be given tips and tricks on what products work best for you, focusing on both day and evening looks. Taught by an industry professional, you will have the opportunity to gain from their vast experience in our state-of-the-art facilities.

You will be required to bring your own makeup kit to class and may wish to purchase additional make-up products and brushes for your personal kit. A suggested product list will be distributed during the first session.

  • Make-up product selection
  • Day makeup and Basic Corrective Makeup
  • Evening make-up

How the course is assessed

  • There are no formal assessments, you will be observed and provided with supportive feedback throughout the sessions 

Number of days per week

  • One evening per week, Thursday evenings 5.30 PM to 8.30 PM

Entry requirements

  • You must be aged 16+ to attend this course.

English Proficiency Requirements

IELTS 5.5

Progression and Articulation Routes

  • Candidates may wish to progress into full-time make-up artistry study, providing they have the relevant experience and the stipulated qualification

Career options

  • A career in make-up for stage and screen working within the film and theatre industries once a student has completed HND Make-Up Artistry.
  • A career in fashion make-up once a student has completed HNC Fashion Make-Up.
