Students from Zhejiang complete course at Edinburgh College
Eleven students from the Zhejiang Institute of Economics and Trade (ZJIET) in the Zhejiang province of China have recently completed a two-day English language and Scottish culture course at Edinburgh College.
The students chose to study at the Capital College with the aim of improving their English language skills as well as learning more about Scottish culture.
The group also brought some Chinese tradition to the College as their visit took place on Lantern Day – a significant festival in China. To mark the occasion the students organised games and activities to share their cultural traditions with the students and staff at College.
Following the course at the College’s Sighthill Campus, the students participated in a two-day business, culture, and English for Academic Purposes (EAP) course at Edinburgh Napier University. This programme was delivered in collaboration with the College and provided insights into the business environment and academic practices in Scotland.
It was fantastic to host this group from Zhejiang in what we hope is the first of many collaborations with the institute. It was a pleasure to have students on our campus – their enthusiasm and excitement was infectious and it was brilliant to spend Lantern Day with them. We look forward to welcoming more students in the future.Victoria Paterson, International Business Manager
