What is clearing?
Clearing is the process through which you can apply to courses that still have available places.
If a course at college still has spots available, this is another opportunity for you to apply to study.
Reasons you might apply to a course through clearing
- The original application deadline has passed, and you have decided you want to apply to study starting in 2024
- You didn’t meet the requirements for the course you originally applied for
- You didn’t receive any offers after the first application deadline
- You have changed your mind about the course you were planning to study
How does clearing work?
Clearing can work in a few different ways, depending on your situation. If you have not applied to a course, have not met your entry requirements, or are looking to switch from one Edinburgh College course to another through clearing, all of this can be done by coming along to our Clearing Event.
You can also call our dedicated Clearing Phone Line between 10am and 4pm from Monday 5 August until Tuesday 13 August on 0131 297 8300.
When does clearing open?
Clearing officially opens on 5 August. After this, you can apply for a course through clearing at Edinburgh College.
How do I apply through clearing?

Or, come along to our Clearing Event, or call our Clearing Phone Line on 0131 297 8300 where you can discuss your application with a member of our team.

You can view courses with places available on our website. Courses with places available with have the apply now option at the top of the page. If you would like to discuss any of these courses with a member of the team to find out more information and understand if they would be suitable for you, please come along to our Clearing Event.
