Course overview
This course will introduce you to a broad range of creative and technical skills in media production, and give you an understanding of the reality of the sector and possible progression paths and future careers.
It will suit people who want to pick up some basic skills and knowledge in media production, people returning to education after some time, moving from general to more specialised learning, or those who are looking to make a career change.
The emphasis is on project work and you will develop practical skills and theoretical understanding while working on a series of short audio, visual and interactive media productions.
You will work both individually and in groups, and perform a variety of production roles and tasks over the duration of the course, from researching ideas through recording and editing media to presenting your final productions to others.
You will be encouraged to develop effective working practices and professional behavours across a range of stimulating and increasingly demanding activities and you will be encouraged to take increasing responsibility for your own learning as the course progresses.
The awarding body for the qualification is the internationally recognised and highly regarded University of the Arts London (UAL). On successful completion of the course you will attain a Level 2 Award in Creative Media Production and Technology which is equivalent to SCQF Level 5 (Nat 5).

Entry requirements
- Minimum of three passes at SCQF Level 4/Nat 4

- All applicants will be invited to interview and should bring examples of creative work and be prepared to talk about different types of media and why they are suitable for this course.
